Wellbeing
Supporting Every Child to Thrive
At Eastbourne Primary School, student wellbeing and inclusion sit at the heart of everything we do.
We believe students learn best when they feel safe, supported, connected and understood.
Our wellbeing approach focuses on building strong relationships, creating consistent and inclusive environments and supporting every child to thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
A Safe, Inclusive Space for All Learners
Our wellbeing team proudly supports students of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with disabilities, additional learning needs, disadvantaged backgrounds and students who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL). Through personalised supports and evidence-based practices, we ensure every student can participate fully and confidently in school life.
Tailored Support for Students
We provide personalised support for students with additional learning, social, emotional and wellbeing needs through:
Personalised Individual Education Plans (IEPs), co-designed with families and specialists.
A whole-school tiered intervention model, from classroom supports to intensive individualised assistance.
A strengthened team of educational support staff, therapists and allied health professionals, led by our Inclusion and MHiPS Lead Teacher.
Small-group and individual sessions focusing on emotional regulation, social skills, puberty education and personal safety.
Whole-school programs like Brainstorm Productions to build confidence, resilience and respectful relationships.
Supporting Equity & Engagement
We believe every child should feel connected, included and able to fully participate in school life.
Equity funding enables access to tutoring, wellbeing programs, camp and excursion subsidies and mental health services.
Signature programs including Drumbeat, Play Training, Story Dogs, equine therapy, mentoring and our Daily Breakfast Program build connection, confidence and a sense of belonging.
Our Infusion Program strengthens engagement through our school values: Learning, Collaboration, Respect and Community.
Welcoming & Supporting EAL Students
We are proud to support students and families from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. Supports for EAL learners may include:
Targeted English language support
Visual scaffolds and structured classroom supports
Buddy systems and supported transitions
Collaborative learning experiences
Translated communication and culturally inclusive practices to strengthen home-school partnerships
